TOOLBOX

Practical strategies you can use to express your faith.

These are bridges designed to help you move from bystander to transformer.

These tools will help your club ignite a faith transformation on campus.

classroom assignments.

When a teacher welcomes you to discuss your own ideas during a classroom assignment, take the opportunity to express your faith.

  • A high schooler in California was assigned to do a presentation on her personal passions. She took this chance to communicate her passion for worship by leading a worship song in front of the classroom with 35 of her peers watching.

  • A 2nd grader dressed up as Jesus and told the class about him for a class report on one of her heroes.

  • Another high schooler was asked to write an essay on her thoughts as she watched the brushfires in California. She wrote on how the flames reminded her about her burning passion for Christ and how God is a consuming fire (Hebrews 12:29). Although the teacher initially rejected the essay for mentioning God, the students’ rights to express her faith were upheld.

share your faith.

Use the Free to Speak pamphlet or wristband as an opportunity to share your faith with a friend or peer. Give one to them or ask if they’ve received one yet as a conversation starter to then ask them what they believe and start a discussion on your personal faiths.

host an event.

Hold an evangelism event in the gym, cafeteria, or in a classroom. Offer free pizza during the event and invite a speaker to present the gospel message. You’ve already passed out Free to Speak flyers and wristbands. You can invite people to this event no problem. One school saw over 100 students come to Christ through an event like this!

invite others to your club.

Now that you’ve opened the conversation about religion through the Free to Speak campaign, take this chance to invite your friends to learn what you believe by inviting them to attend your club.

offer prayer.

As you distribute Free to Speak materials to others, offer prayer in that same interaction. You’ll be surprised to hear of how much your peers may be struggling and going through real difficulties in life. You can be a real blessing and shine the light of Christ for them during these times.
